12-hour Street Concert in Harvard Square

On Sunday, September 27, Peter Mulvey will play 12 45-minute sets, from 9:00 in the morning until 9:00 at night, in front of Club Passim at 47 Palmer Street in Harvard Square, Cambridge. This event is free, open to the public, and will also be streamed free on Concert Window. He will play about a hundred songs and will not repeat any. Palmer Street will be closed to vehicular traffic between Church and Brattle for this event. Rain location is inside Club Passim. For more information, follow @PeterMulvey43 on Twitter, or visit www.petermulvey.com.

Peter will donate half of the proceeds from the entire event (including merchandise sales) to four non-profits: Zumix, Raw Art Works, the National Youth Science Foundation, and the Passim School of Music. Donations can be made onsite: there will be a merch table and a tip jar. Also, the online audience can tip via Concert Window, or by purchasing merchandise through the store at Peter’s website.

“This street concert is a thank you to my Boston-area audience, and a jaunt through my songwriting history; a throwback to my long days of busking on the streets of Dublin and Cambridge. The online part is for all of you who ask when I’m coming to your town, and for all of you who live in places so out-of-the-way that I don’t tour there. It’s chance to be of use to organizations that do some good, and also, at heart, just another quixotic idea, like touring by bicycle, or, frankly, like setting out on the road to make a life of playing music, which is what some kid, some kid I used to be, actually did, twenty-odd years ago.”

The Twelve Hour Street Concert will be the unofficial kickoff for the 5th Annual LAMPLIGHTER SESSIONS Peter will again host at Club Passim from October 28th thru November 1st. Peter has been curating this multi-night, one-room festival at Passim since 2010.
